Redefining a trade giant to accommodate the needs of a modern-day e-commerce solution

We collaborated with an established (18+ years) trade giant consisting of a product catalogue of over 2500+ products. The aim was to provide an on-brand solution to take advantage of engaging with a mobile focused audience through a custom built, responsive end product, with the ultimate goal of converting sales.

Getting the fundimentals right

One vital method to improve engagement and aid the users journey throughout the side circulated around the navigation.

The menu structure was re-built from the ground up, stripping out irrelevant categories (with the influence of analytic data & client discussions/considerations going forward) and re-adjusting the structure with the aim to reducing the number of clicks and providing a navigation to relate to the customer’s needs.

This combined with a clean responsive mega menu, presented a firm base to re-build the site around.

Consistent & targeted promotion

After discussions with the client, we pinpointed the target audience through our chosen promotional plan. We utilised cost effective tools across specified avenues/platforms to produce on-brand consistent promotions.

Significant consideration was given to the message/offer & targeted call to actions, influenced by seasonal events and other factors.

These methods used consistently aid engagements, supplements increased traffic to the site and ultimately converts sales.

A feature rich build to enhance the customer experience

Not only did we improve the re-design via the user interface, we focused our efforts on enhancing the users shop experience.

One method was to introduce product page key sells. These key sells gave potential customers the crucial data in a more readable format (in direct view underneath the 'add to basket' button) with the aim to improve conversion rates.

Further implementations include: Ajax filtering for product search, Optimised banners for mobile viewing & product variation tables to improve product options.
